In the end we decided fully for a traditional Thanksgiving spread. It was in the supermarket when we saw all the shoppers holding turkeys and loaves of bread, cans of pumpkin, fresh sage and aluminum pans and thought good god, we want turkey, we want stuffing, we want leftovers. And that was it, all plans of Mexcian Thanksgiving out the window and on to 5 stores, 86 times in 2 days. Below is a selection of the Holiday-days before and days after. We had Herb Butter Roasted Turkey with Sausage and Walnut Stuffing, Braised Garlic Mashed Potatoes, All day Giblet Gravy, Stewed Green Beans with loads of Garlic, Wine, and Tomato, Arugula Salad with Roasted Parsnips, Carrots, and Cumin Vinaigrette, one of our friends brought a gorgeous Cranberry and Raspberry Relish with loads of citrus zest, another friend finished us off with homemade Brownies and a Pumpkin Mousse Tart with Crushed Walnuts. All in all a really good day. Simple, traditional, and wonderful. And of course the next day brought Turkey soup with Rice, and the day before was Brussel Sprouts Fritatta, and the next day, a sort of twist on Shepard’s Pie, another meal of Stuffing with Scrambled eggs…it literally goes on and on.

Happy Holidays to all!
